Data Structures and Design Patterns for Game Developers
GO TO THE COURSE
This course is about learning how to use the C# programming language and Unity game engine on Windows or Mac, in order to develop video games. Why use a language other than C# and Unity for game engines? C# is a good language for learning how to program. In 2016 the Unity game engine was downloaded 16,000,000,000 times. C# is a programming language that you can use in the environment. You must have knowledge from the three courses in order to take this course. Taking previous courses or personal experience will show you what to expect in this course. The required knowledge is added to the "Who this class is for" section. You will build on your knowledge of C# and Unity by using various data structures to develop more robust games with better object oriented designs. Data structures and design patterns are topics that span all applications of programming. If you are building a tool using Win Forms, writing a web app in the ASP.NET Framework or even making software that deals with lotteries, these ideas apply to all of them too. Module 1: Explore a Dynamic Array data structure and learn the basics of algorithm analysis Module 2: Learn about and use the common Linked List and Graph data structures Module 4: Learn about and use several additional data structures: Stacks, Queues, and Trees Module 5: Complete final peer review Unity is a trademark or registered trademark of Unity Technologies. The identity and use of Unity shall vary for each chapter and shall not be determined by the design principles. This course is not affiliated with or sponsored by any of the companies pictured.
